Our Mares

1991 - 2007 Thoroughbred Mare
“No Pennies”

In Memory of Penny…
During the early morning hours of Thursday June 7th, Penny went into labor. Things were not right, however, and shortly after she started pushing, she suffered an intestinal prolapse.  To further complicate an already dire situation, the foal was malpositioned with a leg back and due to the prolapsed intestines we were unable to reach it to deliver it.  With Kim at my side and the help of my daughter Victoria and friend Jeremy we tried everything possible to get the foal out even though the vet said it was impossible.  Vets were unable to get out to her in time and even with every effort we lost both her and her foal to this very rare occurrence.   This was a devastating experience for us and I want to thank all who were there for us, I could never have gotten through it alone.
For those who knew Penny, knew she was an outstanding and loving mare as well as an incredible mother who blessed us with two wonderful colts; Quincy and Cooper.  She was known and loved by many.
I know she is in a good place now over the Rainbow bridge, with her new foal at her side but she will be missed more than words can describe.
We love you and miss you Penny….

"Penny" as we call her, is a beautiful 15'1 bay thoroughbred mare. Don't let her size fool you, she is know for throwing very large babies. She has great confirmation and very balanced fluid motion. Her sire "Key to the Mint" is the top international brood mare sire. Penny is an extremely sweet mare, always looking for attention and will follow you anywhere. Doing well under saddle, and we hope to show her next year in hunter and pleasure classes. This year we had an outstanding foal from her to "Quinn" Friesian Stallion(16h and still growing) the son of the late, great "Teunis 332" (17h) and a star mare. He was awarded a very respectable 2nd Premium at the inspections in Holland for conformation and movement. "Quinn" has all the traits Friesians are known for : nobility, beauty, disposition, movement, intelligence and an abundance of hair to go along with his gentle, tractable nature. And it is seen that these wonderful traits are carried on to his progeny.
In 2006 we have decided to put her awesome pedigree to use and have bred
her to Good Shepherd for what should be one incredible racing prospect.

1998 Kentucky Mountain Saddle Horse

"Whispers Whimsical Dream"

Whimsy is a beautiful but bold girl. Gait is very smooth and her
canter is the most gentle. A very sweet temperment and only 14'1h.
She is great on the trail, not afraid of anything, and very sure footed.
Incredible hard hooves, never needs shoes. She freejumps 3'6
now with ease, and 2' undersaddle confidently.
Due to our change in breeding direction we have decided to
sell Whimsy to Alex in OH, she just absolutely fell in love
with her and will give her a great home.

She was bred for a May-2006 foal to "Doctor Sam" Pics here
A georgous Dark Chocolate Stallion with true white mane/tail.
We can't wait to see this baby, sure to be an eye catcher..

1999 Belgian Draft Horse
"Cleo's Classy Rose"

"Jersey" As we call her is a beautiful gentle giant. Going about 17hh
and well built. Her movements are big, bold and very animated.
She has a very quiet and loving disposition, and is just a joy to have.

She is currently my hubbys' trail horse and my daughter will
probably do some ring work for english hunter or western pleasure.
With time being so limited and too many horses to work,
We have decided that Jersey's talents would be put to better use
and have decided to sell her to and wonderful gentleman, she will
be a partner in a pair driving time and should just love this new job.
We will miss her greatly, she is an absolutely the sweetest mare.

"Rocky Meadow's Shawnee"
1995 Draft/QH dunalino Mare
"Shawnee"

Shawnee came to us from a beautiful show barn in MA.
She is a big bodied mare, with a very beautiful face.
Standing at 15'2 and a gorgeous dunalino color.
A 10+ powerful but graceful mover with a lovely disposition.
Solidly jumping 2'6 courses my daughter is planning on lightly
showing her this summer before her winter/spring off, she is due to foal
in spring of 2009. She is bred to our own "Quincy" FSHR and we
are expecting and exceptional foal from this pair.

Since Tori has decided to go more in the western direction
Shawnee has found a home doing what she loves jumping and dressage.

"Buds of Spring"
2003 Bay Thoroughbred mare
"Sunshine"

Sunshine is a becoming a wonderful mare. Coming directly from
Phila Park Race track, our farm was very strange to her, compared
to her long and successful racing career. With time she is settling in
nicely and is an extremely sweet and beautiful mare. We are not really
sure what our long term plans are for her but for the next couple years,
she is going to just be a horse and hopefully a mom as well. Sunshine had a beautiful huge blood bay colt on 05/16/09 from our own "Quincy" FSH.
Being our tallest mare at 16hh with a lovely refined frame and
an awesome pedigree we expect a foal that will shine in the show ring.

We have decided to cut back on our breeding and our offering
this awesome mare, bred back to Quincy for $1000
3 in 1 package deal is also available until colt is weaned for $2500

Sunshine is sold - Congrats Sue in NY

"Morgan's Lucy Lu"
Lucy is a 6yo cute few spot POA about 12'2h that we got our daughter
Morgan for Christmas. She is very sweet and a beautiful mover.
She is still quite green but with Tori and the help of Tabitha their trainer
she should become a great riding pony for Morgan.
Lucy gave birth to a gorgous grey colt, "Quincy's little dude" Kirby as we call him
See pics of him here
